Short Term Hostels
These may be run by the private sector, voluntary organisations or local authorities. Hostels offer varying degrees of support but do not have to be registered homes as they do not provide board or personal care.
Hostels frequently offer short-term accommodation and are usually specific to a particular client group for example, people with mental health problems, or homeless people. Residents are entitled to have their own room and share communal living areas.
Residents may be entitled to Housing Benefit to meet the cost of their rent and sometimes some of their care costs. It is also possible to claim other welfare benefits.
